The Youth Program at West Huntsville is based on Serving and Leading. We believe that our youth should be involved in serving the Lord as well as other people. They should also be leading whenever possible.
Our youth are heavily involved in the Lads-to-Leaders/Leaderettes program. Many of our young people participate in many of the events involved in Lads-to-Leaders/Leaderettes. Each person can be involved in as many or as few activities as he/she would like.
Along with this we have other activities for them as well. The youth group does a banquet each year for the widows and widowers called the SweetHeart Banquet. The youth group is involved in helping to provide services for our elderly members who can't do things for themselves. We have several youth involved in the "Puppets for Youngsters". Our youth group has door knocking sessions in various parts of the city as well.
It isn't hard for a member of our youth group to stay busy. There are plenty of opportunities for them to serve the Lord and to serve their fellow man.
1st Timothy 4:12 - "Let no man dispise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
